About this role

About the Project We are building a gamified competitive ecosystem where students develop daily discipline to prepare for technical placements. The concept combines the engagement of Duolingo, the competitive strategy of Clash of Clans, and the skill-building depth of LeetCode, but tailored specifically for engineering growth and placement preparation. This is not a short-term college project. The goal is to build a long-term SaaS platform where the freemium core remains open source while the premium layer stays private. The concept has already shown traction with more than 120 active daily users. What We Are Building The platform is designed for long-term engagement with a retention horizon of one to two years. The core experience focuses on consistent progress, competition, and structured growth. šŸ”¹ Streak and accountability systems šŸ”¹ Squad-based competition and weekly wars šŸ”¹ Ranked leagues with monthly seasons šŸ”¹ Real-time progression mechanics Tech Stack The platform is designed with scalability and cross-platform delivery in mind. šŸ”¹ Frontend: Flutter (Android, iOS, Web, Desktop) šŸ”¹ Backend: Supabase, PostgreSQL, Realtime services šŸ”¹ Infrastructure: Edge Functions and event-driven systems šŸ”¹ Desktop distribution: Tauri wrapper Contribution Areas We are looking for developers who think in terms of systems, scalability, and architecture rather than just implementing isolated features. System Architecture Engineers Focus on designing the core mechanics that drive the platform. šŸ”¹ XP progression systems and XP curves šŸ”¹ League ranking algorithms šŸ”¹ Season reset pipelines šŸ”¹ Squad war scoring systems Backend Engineers Focus on reliability, performance, and data integrity. šŸ”¹ Supabase schema design šŸ”¹ Mission completion pipelines šŸ”¹ Streak tracking systems and event triggers šŸ”¹ Leaderboard optimization Flutter Engineers Focus on creating a smooth and engaging user experience. šŸ”¹ Interactive dashboards and mission interfaces šŸ”¹ Squad systems and ranking screens šŸ”¹ Real-time updates and animations Game Economy Designers Focus on retention and progression balance. šŸ”¹ Designing and balancing XP curves šŸ”¹ Coin rewards and incentive structures šŸ”¹ Progression pacing and season rewards DevOps and Infrastructure Engineers Focus on platform reliability and operational scalability. šŸ”¹ Automating season reset pipelines šŸ”¹ Scaling realtime subscriptions šŸ”¹ Leaderboard caching strategies Why Contribute šŸ”¹ Real Impact: Build a platform that helps thousands of students improve their careers. šŸ”¹ Recognition: Public contributor credits and visibility into real system architecture. šŸ”¹ Learning: Work on complex engineering challenges including gamification systems, realtime infrastructure, and scalable backend design. šŸ”¹ Community: Collaborate with developers who enjoy discussing architecture and solving meaningful engineering problems. How to Apply or Get Started If you enjoy solving real engineering problems and want to build something unconventional, this project is open to contributors who want to create systems that matter.
